February 12-13, 2011 was the 33rd annual Corvette Chevy Expo event. This stunning 2002 Corvette is owned by Salvador & Roxanne Silva of Pearland, TX.

1963 Corvette owned by Richard & Jan Crawford of Jersey Village, TX. 1963 marked the most significant new model introduction ever for Corvette. One of the signature elements of the 63 Coupe was the Split Window. The response to the 1963 Corvette was truly extraordinary. Buyers were waiting up to 60 days to take delivery on a purchase. The St. Louis assembly plant started a second shift to keep up with the demand.

The Corvette Chevy Expo Best Display Award went to Lou Ann Pond of Deer Park, TX with her Tweety Bird 2007 Canary yellow Corvette. This was certainly a hit with all the children (big and little ones)!

Spectators enjoyed checking out this beautiful 1999 Lingenfelter Corvette owned by Bobby Howell of Malakoff, Texas. For over 31 years, Lingenfelter has been a world-renowned high performance tuner offering engine packages & accessories.

This Lemans Blue 2009 Corvette convertible owned by Kevin Matthews of Deer Park, Texas. He has decked it out with custom airbrushed artwork.

This is a 2005 Black C6 Corvette named "Grumpy" and is owned by Chris Watts. Chris and his wife Karen own Richey Collision in Houston, Texas. His wife Karen took Best of Show at this year's Corvette Chevy Expo. It is hard to believe, but this gorgeous show car was created from a wrecked Corvette.

33rd annual Corvette Chevy Expo, Houston Texas is held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, Texas.

Two more great looking Corvettes: 1982 Corvette owned by Renee Rape of Clute, Texas and a 1962 Corvette owned by Clayton Catchings of Missouri City, Texas.

How is this for creativity? This great looking show car is a 2001 Corvette owned by Michael & Swoney Rodgers of Pearland, Texas.

Here are two special Corvettes: This 2010 White Grand Sport Corvette is owned by Ann Bailey of Richmond, Texas and this1978 Corvette Pace Car is owned by Mike Stockman of Seabrook, Texas.



This stunning Rally Red 1965 Corvette Sport coupe owned by Nelson Emery of Sims, Arkansas. It has Fuel Injection and notice the side exhaust. The Side mounted exhaust systems first appeared in 1965.

Myrtle Johnson of Houston, Texas owns this sharp 2001 Corvette. This extremely nice 1966 Corvette Stingray convertible is owned by Robert Oberst of Houston, Texas.

The People's Choice Cup Award went to David Nash (Corvette of Houston) for his C6 Race Car. David also won Best of Show in the Competition Corvette Class. The trunk was open so you could see the fuel cell and weight box. This certainly drew a lot of attention! His racecar has stock heads, stock intake and a stock lift cam. Bottom: This vintage race car is a1969 Corvette and owned by Jim Sanberg of Seabrook, Texas.

This Corvette has taken Best of Show for several year the Corvette Chevy Expo. It is a 2003 Corvette and owned by Jose & Veronica Henriquez of Houston, Texas. Everyone always enjoys his Corvette and his fabulous display!

This sharp LS2 2007 Corvette is owned by Rich & Colleen Cook of Rosharon, Texas.

This is now a Vette Vues Magazine Production!

This year marked the 32nd Annual Corvette Chevy Expo in Houston, Texas. Vette Vues has been a vendor at this event for years. However, this year there was a lot of new and exciting changes. Founders of this event, Don and Dianne Cooper of Cooper Collision, Corpus Christi Texas passed the baton over to Vette Vues Magazine.

The downtown, east Houston, location is easy to get to by the freeways. The shipping docs are actually underneath the freeway, it is that accessible, making it almost painless for those who trailer their show cars, or vendors with their big rigs. This year’s show, held in Hall A, encompassed 130,000 square feet, and it was completely full

One thing this show has always had was a great participation of Chevrolet Clubs and again this year several Texas Clubs showed their support by attending. The clubs included: Corvette Owners Club of Houston, HFD Street Machines, Houston Area Chevy Club, Houston C-3 Club, H-Town Camaro Club, Line Em Up Corvette Club, Los Unidos Corvette Club, National Afro American Corvette Club, National Corvette Restorers Society, North Houston Krewzers, Sam Houston Corvette Club, San Jacinto Corvette Club, Space City Corvettes and Texas Style Performance.

As spectators entered, the first car they saw was the very rare 1955, owned by Brian Webb that was featured in the April issue of Vette Vues Magazine. The next car they saw was a pure stock 2001 C5 owned by Jerametrius Butler. The hall was full; everywhere you looked there were beautiful cars and vendors displays.













One of the feature displays was the NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) Chapter Meet. Under the direction of Charlie Cadenhead, the Texas Chapter of NCRS had a beautiful display of Corvettes. The Corvette & Chevy Expo was proud to have the Texas NCRS Chapter display at this year’s event. They had fourteen (14) cars entered, seven (7) cars for Flight Judging and seven (7) cars for Sportsman Display. There were two 1958 Corvettes, Bob Taylor brought a rare Panama Yellow (only 455 of the 9,168 Corvettes made that year) and James Fullerton brought his beautiful Silver Blue 1958 Corvette. Brian Talley brought two Corvettes, both 1960’s one red and one black. There were four of the very popular 1966’s; Rally Red, Laguna Blue, Milano Maroon and a blue custom. Owners Teresa King, Tim Ehlers, Gary Draper and Tom O’Grady displayed these great 66’s. Spectators also got to see two great 1968’s. Charlie Cadenhead, NCRS Chapter President, displayed his gorgeous 1968 painted Corvette Bronze. Kirk Townsend showed his Silverstone Silver ’68. The Texas NCRS display not only had examples of the C1 and C2, they had a 1978 C3 Black/Silver Corvette owned by Phil Pitalo. Melissa Neiman represented the C4’s with her 1995 Dark Purple/White Corvette. Andy Sanchez showed his 2009 C6 Corvette.







 







 



 









If one was looking to buy anything from Cars to parts to jewelry this was the place to be. There was a great Car Sales Mart that included the likes of a 1961 Impala, 1984 Trans Am, 1966 Corvette and much more. Vendors ranged from: Al Knoch Interiors, Corvette Clocks by Roger, Auto Etc. Neon, Keen Parts, Jack and Cathy Podell, Vette Brakes, Thompson Astro Tops, Glassworks, West Coast Corvettes, Eddie Wass, Coffman Corvettes, Apsis USA, Canvas Shoppe, Corvette Center, Aixiz Cycles, The Houston Chronicle, Aqua Gardens , Expressions Photography, Valley Vette Shop, Corvettes of Houston, RSR Performance, Richey Collison, Advanced Racing Dynamics and the list just keeps going on and on. Vette Vues would like to especially thank Lone Star Caliper as they were the Show Sponsor.

Six girls competed to be the next winner of the SwimSuit USA model search. Bob Johnston of Auto Etc. Neon did a great job of being the host.
